听力原文:M: Amy, are you interested in joining us for the party this weekend?

W: I'd love to. (19)But I have tutoring then.

M: Tutoring? I can hardly imagine that you need a help with a class.

W: (19) I mean I'm tutoring someone else, I go downtown to tutor a few students at the high school.

M: I find that hard to believe. And what subject do you tutor, math or something else?

W: Right. You see, the city is trying to raise the standards for its math classes. (20)The problem is, a lot of the kids are far behind when they get to junior high school.

M: Yeah, I have read such report in the newspaper. But does the time schedule conflict with your own classes?

W: (21)I only have three students for forty minutes each weekend, Most of the tutors there are students at the university, so our classes aren't over there. And we are volunteers, so the program doesn't cost a lot and the city education department likes us. M: Can you afford to take that much time away from your own studying?

W: Some weeks is kind of hard especially when the examination is approaching. But anyway I may as well get used to teaching easy materials to the students, so as to get the practical experience.

M: And it must be nice to help people.

W: Definitely, Forty minutes a week isn’t much time, (22)but all the three of my students have improved in the months we’ve worked together, It’s really inspiring.

(23)

A.She will take some lessons.

B.She will travel in the downtown.

C.She win attend the party.

D.She will do the teaching job.

听力原文:M: Hey, Amy, where are you off to?

W: To the Recreation Center. I've got a physical education class.

M: What course are you taking?

W: Fencing.

M: Oh, really? Is it hard?

W: I was in the fencing club in high school, so for me it's mostly review.

M: I once heard someone call fencing "the thinking person's sport." Would you agree with that?

W: It does require lots of concentration, and if you want to win matches, tactics are important — just like in a game of chess.

M: And I suppose you have to be fast and strong to win.

W: Speed is important, and agility, but you don't have to be particularly strong to be a good fencer. The main reason I like fencing, though, is that it's great exercise. I find an hour of fencing is as good a workout workout as, as say, an hour of tennis.

(20)

A.Go to a meeting of the fencing club.

B.Watch a fencing match.

C.Review for an exam.

D.Attend a physical education class.

听力原文:M: Ok, Amy. Before we can find the right man for you, just tell us what kind of p
erson you'd like to date. Don't be shy.

W: Well, OK. I've never done this before. I feel kind of silly, but here goes. I guess I really like men who have a sense of humor. I love to laugh and be happy. That's the most important thing. But I don't like men who are really loud, I mean, I like men to laugh, but I don't want them to sound like donkeys.

M: OK, what else?

W: Oh, I like men who are intelligent and open-minded. Those two things go together, don't they? Good conversations are important. I love talking about books and movies and politics. I really hate men who think they're always right, you know, the stubborn ones who won't listen to new ideas. They always get into bad moods if you don't agree with them. I don't like men who are moody.

M: Now, Amy, tell me about the perfect Saturday night date.

W: Hmm. Well, he comes over to my place, and we cook dinner together. Then we put on some jazz, sit down to eat and talk about important things. Of course, he offers to help with the dishes;. It really bothers me when a man won't help clean up.

M: Sounds romantic. OK. Last question. Is there anything you really don't like?

W: Well, sure. I really don't like men, or people, who don't respect other people.

Questions 23 to 25 are based on the conversation you have just heard.

23. What kind of men does Amy like to date?

24. What do you know about the perfect Saturday night date in Amy's mind?

25. What is the most probable relationship between the two speakers?

(20)

A.Men who like donkeys.

B.Men who love to laugh loudly.

C.Men who are humorous.

D.Men who feel donkeys are silly.
