W: Oh, yes, very much so. Now people are beginning to take seriously the idea of a kind of psychology of clothing, to believe that (22)there is not just individual taste in our clothes but also a thinking behind what we wear which is trying to express something we may not even be aware of ourselves.
M: But surely this has always been the case. We all dress up when we want to impress someone, such as for a job interview with an employer; we tend to make an effort and put on something smart.
W: True, but that's conscious act. What I am talking about is something unconscious. For example, the student who is away from home at college or university: (23)if he tends to wrap himself up more than the others, this is because he is probably feeling homesick. Similarly, a general feeling of insecure can sometimes take the form. of overdressing in warmer clothes than necessary.
M: Can you give any other examples?
W: Yes. I think (24)people who are sociable and out-going tend to dress in an open way, preferring brighter colors.
M: Do you think the care over the way we actually wear our clothes has anything to tell us?
W: Yes, indeed. The length, for example, of a man's trousers speaks volumes about his awareness of his own image. Or, if his trousers are very short or having loosely, this probably means he's absorbed by other things.

听力原文:M: Some people seem to need significantly less sleep than others.
W: Tell me about it. I have a friend who swears that she sleeps only five hours a night. She seems to have plenty of energy, and she's not confused and incompetent the way I am after several nights of only five hours of sleep. You know what really annoys me? Because she sleeps less, (23) she has more time to accomplish more in her days than I do. It's not fair.
M: I know what you mean. I've also heard scientists have discovered a gene in flies that determines how much rest the individual needs. Flies with a version of this gene are actually programmed to need less sleep than others. (24) And we humans possess a similar gene.
W: So the amount of sleep one needs seems to be genetically inherited?
M: Yes. And (25) families of flies with a lower sleep requirement don't seem to suffer any injuries in their performance of daily tasks. It may very well be that people who claim to need less sleep to operate normally are telling the truth.
W: That's depressing.
M: Well, you might be interested to know that flies programmed to sleep less tend to die earlier.
W: Really? So maybe I'll end up with the same hours of waking time as my friend after all. It'll just take me a few extra years of living to catch up with her!
M: Maybe.
(20)
A.She sleeps less than her friend.
B.She is confused and incompetent while working.
C.She is annoyed by energy.
D.Her friend can accomplish more tasks than her.
听力原文: For those of you who were born in the year of the pig, good luck and much success! This is your year.
When talking to a Westerner, however, you've got to be a little careful when you talk about pigs. Chinese people view the pig as a smart and lucky animal. Western ideas tend to be a little more negative.
A pig in the West is seen as a dirty, lazy, and fat animal. If anyone ever called you a pig, you wouldn't be smiling. When a person doesn't like someone, sometimes he will call that person a pig.
If you ever meet a Westerner who was born in the year of the pig, don't say "Oh, you're a pig!" Most Westerners will be understanding. They will be sure that you made some kind of a mistake. However, don't take any chances. You might just offend someone who does not share your positive ideas about pigs.
(30)
A.Because they worship pigs best of all.
B.Because they consider pigs as bad animals.
C.Because they aren't used to talking about pigs.
D.Because they don' t like the topic about pigs at all.
